Spring Is Here!!!
A few things to keep you up to date on what’s going on at the Boys & Girls Club:
Learn to Run
Our Learn to Run Program is back! The program will run on Mondays and Thursday beginning Monday, April 16th. Weekly sessions will help participants to develop their knowledge and skills on running techniques that will assist them in goal setting, pacing, lowering their injury risk as well as help participants to develop a strong and positive attitude towards being active. Upon completion of the 8-week session, participants will take part in Midland’s Butter Tart Trot 5 km run for kids on Saturday, June 9th. *Please note that this program is now full (waitlist is available).
Girls at Bat
This year we will be starting up a "Girls at Bat" all female baseball program. This program will run Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30 at Little Lake Park Baseball Diamonds. We will start out by meeting at the Boys ang Girls Club of North-Simcoe at 4:15 and walk down to the baseball diamond as a group. Each week will include sessions that work on baseball skills, leadership development, building self-esteem and self-confidence. Upon the completion of this program all girls will participate in a tournament showcasing all of their hard work/skills they have learned throughout each session. Please pick up a registration form for more information and to register for this program.
Go Girl
We are excited to announce that the Club is the host location for Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe Go Girls! program! This free program is open to girls ages 12-14 and consists of group mentoring sessions that includes topics such as self-esteem, healthy lifestyles and balanced living. Sessions begin Saturday, April 7th and are led by fully trained Big Brother Big Sister Mentors. To register please contact Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe at 705-526-5051. (Please register early as space is limited to 10 girls).
Reminders:
• Please call the Club at 705-526-6159 if your child will not be attending the After-School Program.
• Please continue to check our Lost & Found table to see if any of your children’s belongings happen to be there. It tends to fill up quickly.
• Payments for After School will come out on Tuesday, April 3rd
