Spring Is Here!!
A few things to keep you up to date on what’s going on at the Boys & Girls Club:
Learn to Run
Our Learn to Run Program is back! The program will be run on Mondays and Thursday beginning Thursday, April 20th. Weekly sessions will help participants to develop their knowledge and skills on running techniques that will assist them in goal setting, pacing, lowering their injury risk as well as help participants to develop a strong and positive attitude towards being active. Upon completion of the 8-week session, participants will take part in Midland’s Butter Tart Trot 5 km run for kids on Saturday, June 10th. Please pick up a registration form for more information and to register. Please register quickly as spots for this program are limited. *Commitment to this program is required for best training results*
National Canadian Film Day
National Canadian Film Day is on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017. Because it is Canada’s 150th birthday this year, Reel Canada is offering organizations the opportunity to have a screening of one of Canada’s Films for free. We are excited that we have been chosen to help celebrate during our After-School Program. We will be screening the Canadian Film Snowtime! with our After-School participants on Wednesday, April 19th.
Reminders:- Please call the Club at 705-526-6159 if your child will not be attending the After-School program on a day they are registered for.
- Many of our members now have indoor shoes, it would be wonderful to see everyone with a pair so we can avoid bare feet or wet socks. We have a shelf that indoor shoes can be kept on throughout the week. Please make sure they are labelled.
- Please continue to check our Lost & Found table to see if any of your children’s belongings happen to be there. It tends to fill up quickly.
- Payments for After School will come out on Monday, April 3rd
